About Kavli IFN
Who We Are
The Kavli Institute for Fundamental Neuroscience (KIFN) is an organization within the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) that was endowed through the generosity of Kavli Foundation and the UCSF Chancellor. The KIFN is broadly committed to fostering, promoting and financially supporting fundamental neuroscience research, joining laboratories that are resident at UCSF with those that reside within the National Laboratories at the University of California: the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). The KIFN not only provides research funding to support novel scientific research, but also supports creative initiatives that endeavor to advance science through community engagement, education and the dissemination of novel research advances to the general public.
The KIFN is directed by Professor Graeme Davis
Research Discoveries, describe foundational research programs within KIFN, written for the general public. Essays describe novel questions being addressed and how scientific advances are achieved.
Affilliations
